Congratulations to Elmira High School Interact Club student Eve McLane on graduating from the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) program on July 16! Sponsored by the Elmira Rotary Club, Eve attended the five-day leadership camp at Finger Lakes Community College, where she joined student leaders from across the region to strengthen her leadership skills and build lasting connections. Eve will be a junior at Elmira High School this fall, and we look forward to seeing her put those leadership skills into action both in the classroom and through the Interact Club. After carefully monitoring the forecast, we have made the decision to move Elmira High School’s Graduation Ceremony to Wednesday June 24, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. due to the impending weather.

The location and timeframes remain unchanged.

We know graduation is a special day for our students and their families, and we understand that many people have made plans around this event. This decision was not made lightly, but we believe it gives us the best opportunity to celebrate our graduates in a safe and enjoyable setting.

We apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause and appreciate your understanding and flexibility. We look forward to recognizing the accomplishments of the Class of 2026 and celebrating this important milestone together on Wednesday evening.

Elmira High School students had the opportunity to inspire the next generation during Beecher School's Career Day!

Our students joined Beecher's 6th graders for a panel discussion about Career & Technical Education programs through GST BOCES, sharing firsthand experiences and answering thoughtful questions about enrollment requirements, attendance expectations, industry standards, hands-on learning opportunities, and future career pathways. Career and Technical Education programs help students gain real-world skills and prepare for college and careers.

Luca Capilli of Elmira High School was named the Dick Senko Male Athlete of the Year at today's Annual Kiwanis Spring Student/Athletes/Coaches Awards! Congratulations Luca! #GoExpress

Students along with teachers Hannah Leeber and Allison Newkirk from the Design Thinking/ STEAM ELA class volunteered today at the Habitat for Humanity houses here on the Southside. Students Scarlett Hollenbeck, Daniel Dinehart, Hayden Rolls, and Jan Kirchner cleaned up a substantial portion of the backyards of the two current Habitat for Humanity houses on Mt Zoar. They worked all day alongside construction manager Sean to fill 2 dumpsters of trees, garbage, and yard clippings.

🎉Elmira High School’s Academy of Finance recently celebrated an outstanding year of student achievement during its end-of-year awards ceremony. The event brought together students, Board of Education members, staff, parents, families, and community friends to recognize the hard work, dedication, leadership, and accomplishments of our students throughout the school year. 🏦The Academy of Finance is part of the nationally recognized National Academy Foundation (NAF) program, which helps prepare students for college and careers through finance-focused coursework, real-world learning experiences, and partnerships with local businesses and professionals. Students in the program explore areas such as banking, accounting, investing, entrepreneurship, and business management while developing important professional and leadership skills. 🎓Graduates of the program earn a certificate in a finance-related pathway, demonstrating their successful completion of specialized coursework and career-readiness experiences that help prepare them for future opportunities in college, careers, and beyond. 🏆Congratulations to all of our award recipients and thank you to everyone who continues to support the success of this incredible program and the future of our students! #GoExpress

A proposed 0% tax levy increase is included in this year's budget due to the diligence of the Elmira City School District. Three candidates are running for four seats to occupy 3-year terms.
